Good idea--the mask might keep out cigarette smoke...and numerous other forms of air pollution that are waaaaay more likely to kill ya than swine flu....
There are those blue eyes I enjoy so much! Oh, and that mask needs to be replaced with what we call here in the States, a HEPA mask, which is a little bulkier, and requires a special fitting. Not sure what they call them in the UK, but it'll stop Teburculosis, "the piggy virus", and all those other little nasty buggers from entering your lungs... LOL
Are there any confirmed cases there?

IMO Erik is correct. The HEPA filter mask would be effective and the others probably won't be.
