Dads gone camping!

Did the miserable sod take me and my sisters camping? Hell no! OK so my mum was in hospital a lot and we did go on really nice holidays, but no camping! So as soon as the grand kids become old enough to go (my nephews) he books a week off work.
Just heard from him now, they arrived at the campsite and the good news is it’s not flooded. The weather has been bad everywhere in England this week, with flood warnings all over the shop. After struggling to put the tent up, two people came to his aid, shall I go into the fact that I told him to test the tent before he went? Why not, it was a brand new tent and I suggested testing it out to see how long it would to take to put up. He didn’t like that idea, so off he went with an untested tent. So luckily some folks helped him out and the kids sound like they are having a great time. Fingers crossed for the rest of the trip.

They have gone Sunday to Saturday, so will update you, as I know, personally I think my dad has run away from sorting out the bloody Internet problem!

Any bad camping experiences?

What is your answer to this problem?
One man (my dad) needs a crap, problem is he has two kids with him aged 8 and 4.

Let’s see if you give the same advice I did.

  3. Oh, we've tested out new tent first, don't worry. What if he'd arrived and a pole was missing?

Hoping this flooding goes away soon, we're camping in Yorkshire in 3 weeks time :-O

Regards the WC experience, they can share the love standing just outside the door.....

  6. Claire haven't you noticed, your Dad is a Man - men never read instructions or test things. They just blunder on regardless.

As to the crapping, could he wait until they're asleep? Or is he desperate?

  7. No camping for me. I tried it once and it sucked. A nice hotel is roughing it for me. After all, I have to pack and things. No, no camping for me. Boating however is another story.

  9. 1. Drive to the nearest hotel with a decent restaurant.

    2. Order dinner.

    3. Take care of business whilst waiting for dinner to be served.

Although I'll be that probably wasn't your advice, was it?

We had rats in and out during the night after our food. I'll pass on that wonderful experience!
